Ever since I was introduced to the world of music, by way of my parents record player, I have been fascinated by recorded sound. That’s not to say that live music is dull for me in any way – quite the contrary – I love playing music with friends and hearing others play, and revel in the spontaneous, transitory nature of live music. That being said, there is something undeniably appealing about hearing the efforts of musicians come out in a recorded, finalised medium, be it vinyl, CD or online. The studio environment allows for ideas to come out, and subsequently be developed, in a way that is completely different in the live context.

As a father of three young kids, my time is obviously a bit limited (right now I work at about the rate of one new track per year!), but whenever the chores are finished and I find myself alone, with a decent stretch of time ahead of me and in the right frame of mind, I try to crack on with the current idea I have in mind.

You can find a very small selection of what I have done over the past few years on Soundcloud. I work under the name of Silverbrother.

Hear my tunes on Soundcloud here.

Stay tuned for a new installment within the next month or so!
