Laybuy is a fast-growing Buy-Now-Pay-Later (BNPL) provider with a market leading position in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, and a growing presence in Australia.
They were struggling with understanding how to integrate an efficient, effective product design function within their existing structure, which had previously been largely led by brand and marketing, with varied – and often unpredictable – results.
I worked with Laybuy to provide a strategic approach to product design and user experience, and build out and lead the team to execute on that strategy. I recruited three designers who covered the consumer-facing and merchant-facing experiences, as well as populating a component-based design system that would contribute to consistency across their interfaces.
Laybuy now has access to a scalable system for integrating their brand and product aspirations and team into one common design language.
