Fresh new site!

Hi, and welcome to the blog section of this new site I’m setting up. Progress on the site itself is a little slower than I anticipated, partly due to having to trawl through more than ten years of design projects, and also largely due to being a father of three. I will get there in the end though, and the process is proving to be extremely rewarding, after all not many opportunities for retrospection arise in this fast-paced, productivity-oriented world we have created.

I suppose my real intention with this site is to set the record straight. Since David Roca and I closed the doors of the Aflua offices in Menorca’s capital, Mahon, for the very last time, I have kept the business name and websites up and running, though really my entire way of working has spun around 360ยบ. I am now 100% mobile, in the sense that I can work from anywhere and for anybody with an Internet connection, and am doing so more and more as time goes by. For me, this is a fantastic and inspiring symptom of the age we live in, and offers a flexibility and a lifestyle impossible up until now.

With this in mind, it seems logical to offer a site which is true to where I am really at; a site about me as a designer and human being, working primarily through the Internet for clients in Spain and the UK (though I am open to projects in any other country). I am hoping to offer a more personal insight into who I am, what I do, and the great people I have met along the way, clients and collaborators alike.

So please feel free to take a look around the site, which will become more complete over the coming weeks. I would love your (constructive) opinion on any aspect of the site or my work. You can find me on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Skype and mail me through the Contact section.

I look forward to your comments.

All the best,

Jake Burdess
