Freelance Interaction Designer – Auckland, NZ

As an interaction designer, I understand and analyse how people interact with a product and provide solutions that will make it more accessible.

This might include simply making the buttons bigger or designing a login form that is more intuitive. Or it may be that a new kind of interaction is required, so users are able to intuitively make use of a complex interface in a simple way.

Either way, as with user experience design, interaction design requires a solid understanding of the user, usability and prototyping, amongst other things.

Interaction design plays a vital role in digital product design, since it can capture and retain the user’s attention, explain complex features easily or improve the user experience by offering them chunked information to avoid overwhelming users with massive amounts of information.

Motion design is linked to interaction design, aiming to improve and enhance the user interaction experience by creating website animations. This is an increasingly popular means of capturing and retaining the attention of site visitors, and can also be used to explain complex features easily, as well as provide a manageable stream of information that won’t overwhelm the viewer.

This growing trend is largely a result of the evolution of technology and web standards, which have made browsers more capable of handling advanced animations, be it via CSS, JavaScript or video content.

As an experienced interaction and motion designer, I can help you create products that stand out due to their simplicity and usability, as well as because of the way they engage your users with interesting and intuitive user interface design elements.
